pirogov.ru

To be honest, I have no idea what pirogov.ru is about, since it is all in Russian. But the moment I saw the website, I knew I had to list it.

It shows you a relaxing view from the beach, waves rolling in and a gnetle breeze moving the palmtree in the picture. A great source for some relaxing and inspiration.

penguinpagescouk

PenguinPages.co.uk is a free online directory filled with UK based businesses and companies.

The website is fairly simple, and the focus is mostly on the search form and the large mascot, called Joey B.  They chose to use a carbon looking background, and bright colors of orange to make it all stand out. The mix of serious content with a playful theme worked out pretty well!

Paul Berkey is an artist on many fronts: architectural, tattoos, paint, air brush, draw and even computer design. Certainly someone with a ‘wide’ set of skills.

discoappcom

This time a darker website for review: Discoapp.com. The website is all about Disco, a disc burning tool for Mac users.

The bright red creates a nice contrast with the darker surroundings, and really makes the logo stand out.  The website is clean and accessible, and they made sure the more important part of the text stood out by making it brighter.

Further more this website does not contain a lot of pages; most of the information is right there on the homepage. It gives a clean and easy overview of all the possibilites.

wmteamcom

This is a site like you rarely find them; Funny, bright coloured, loads of animations, and still slick enough to sell pretty much everything to everyone. WMteam.com did a great job at their website.

The site itself is written in German, but there is an English option available. The animations and graphics should give you a pretty good idea what the site is about anyway.

The first site to be mentioned here: Smashingmagazine.com.

This website offers a lot of inspiration and knowledge about the internet itself. The website itself is well-known mostly from several huge round-ups. Think of graphic collections, blog templates, fonts, beautiful designs, etc. If you need some inspiration for a new project, Smashingmagazine is the site to visit.

The design is simple and easy to read, with a lot of categories to choose from. The only downside is the amount of banners on the right side, taking up a lot of space.
